Youth Summer 2010
(Click on program for more information)
Learn To Row teaches the basics of rowing. No experience necessary! The athletes
learn about rowing, safety and teamwork.
Fast Track is the next step beyond Learn To Row. Graduate
upwards to new physical and mental demands as you learn the basics of sculling
(two oars/person) and advanced sweep rowing in racing boats.
Crew Camp (only
offered in Sessions III and IV) is for the athlete that wants to accelerate their
learning in a fun atmosphere. Crew Campers begin to learn sculling (two
oars/person) in new boats, but at a much faster pace. With double
the exposure of the Fast Track program, the athletes progress at a much faster
pace.
River Explorers (only
offered in Session III, IV and V)This summer the NRRA will introduce students to rowing and the ecosystems found in and
around the Norwalk River and Long Island Sound with hands-on science
lessons and weekly field trips to the Norwalk Aquarium.
Small Boat Camp is NRRA’s summer competitive youth
rowing program. During the summer you develop your sculling/sweep skills in singles, doubles and pairs.
